What's the deal? There's really nothing more satisfying than bowling a strike, before sipping a glass of cold prosecco and watching your friends' jaws drop as your score triples. Combining a Saturday afternoon pub session with an activity suddenly gives purpose to your drinking. You're drinking to bowl better, and, sometimes, to recover from the shame of a gutter ball. And there's nowhere better to do this than at Queens Skate Dine and Bowl, which houses an ice skating rink, a bowling alley and the only West London outpost of MeatLiquor.

The vibe. Inside It's dark and intimate with fluorescent blue lettering to light up the bowling lanes. At the next door bar and MeatLiquor, the lighting is so atmospheric you might need a little pocket lamp to locate your burger.

Hungry? Start with some lane-side snacks (try the honey mustard chicken wings and unbelievably puffy onion rings) before moving onto the onsite MeatLiquor for a spicy Green Chilli burger, buffalo chicken wings, obligatory cheesy chips and the amazingly gooey deep fried Mac n' Cheese rolls. Warning: more than two of these and you may go into cardiac arrest.

Thirsty? You don't even need to leave the comfort of your lane to order a drink. Start with a jug of beer or some prosecco, before moving onto a well-made Negroni, or, if you're having a terrible game, the Game Over cocktail.

Pro tip: Don't let your wrist overturn when you're bowling.
